Hello Roman,

I can't speak specifically to Fedora 9, but most flavors of Linux are packaged with a software firewall with most ports closed.

It would be beneficial to review what methods of network configuration are Fedora specific, but you will need to open at least ports 1352 and 8585 to setup and allow server connections.
